It is with great sadness tht we announce the passing of Henry Myrchka at Parksville, BC on March 5th, 2011 at the age of 88 years. Originally from the Fillmore, SK area.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth (nee Leibel) and their 3 children. Ron (Sandra) Mrychka, Carol (Dave) Rolston and David (Shirley) Mrychka and 8 Grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Muehr, Rhona Mannix, Mishonna (Joel) Lomeyer, Glendon Rolston, Brent (Noni) Rolston, Crispin, Braidon and Brooklyn Mrychka. Also 4 great-grandchildren, Taylor Muehr, Connor and Madilyn Mannix and Raya Rolston.

Henry immigrated to Canada with his parents Millian and Silda and his brothers and sisters from the Ukraine in 1927, when he was 4 years old. The family settled 10 miles south of Candiac and it was the farm that Henry took over after their passing. It was that farm that was home for 74 years for Henry. It was the place that showed everything that a man could accomplish in a life time. He was just a farmer, that means he could do anything that needed to be done, he could fix or build anything. With his wife Elizabeth they built a home, raised a family and turned their yard into a garden park. His love of gardening was very evident with the thousands of trees, shrubs and flowers that he cared for in his lifetime. Gardening was still a favorite pastime of his after they sold the farm and moved to Parksville, BC in 2001.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Yates Funeral Chapel in Parksville, BC. A private graveside memorial will be held at a later date.
