REID, Hugh K. (Scotty)
Predeceased by his brothers, Seton and Craig. Scotty is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan. Sons; Glen and Craig (Barbara), daughters; Lynda (Steve) and Susan. Also sisters Greta (James), Nancy (Robert); cousins, Neta in Scotland and Sadie (Sam) of the Lower Mainland, BC. Brother Bill (Shirley) in California, six grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Tyra, Bryce, Marcia and Jordan, three great grandchildren Taryn, Michaela and Jessica, Brother-in-law, Don Mills and family and sister-in-law Isabelle. Scotty came to Canada from Scotland in 1936. He worked with his brother Craig for many years in Qualicum Beach, BC. He served in the Royal Canadian Navy for five years. The family moved to Victoria in 1959 where he became a manager with London Life for sixteen years. Scotty was an active member for 40 years with the Uplands Golf Club. Many of his happiest hours were spent there.
There will be no funeral service by his request. A private family graveside will be held. Special thanks to Dr. Benton and Dr. Booth, the Home Care Nurses and Personnel.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired donations may be made to the BC Cancer Society or to a charity of one’s choice.
