REID, I. Muriel
Passed away in Trillium Lodge, Parksville, B.C.
on July 22, 2002 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she resided in the Whitelaw, Alberta area from 1919 to 1949 where she and her husband, George, owned a general store for many years. After several years in Nanaimo and Koksilah, they moved to Victoria in 1957 where they owned and operated a grocery store and Penrhyn Ladies Wear in Cadboro Bay until 1977. Predeceased by her husband George, she will be sadly missed by her daughters, Colleen (Ron) Butler, Andrea (John) Wallin and son Barry (Shirley) Reid. Five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, sister Mildred, seven sisters-in-law and many, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a charter member of Cadboro Bay United Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cadboro Bay United Church, Victoria, B.C. on Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow. Donations, if desired, may be made in Muriel’s memory to Post Polio Awareness and Support Society of B.C., P.O. Box 6579, Depot #1, Victoria, B.C. V8P 5N9 or a charity of choice. “No more pain. Peace at last.”
