DEMMON, Irene Mary (Currie)
born February 29, 1920 in Salmon Arm, BC
Irene resided in Salmon Arm until 1973 moving to Golden until 1999 at which time she moved to Parksville where she resided for the balance of her life
Irene passed peacefully at Arrowsmith Lodge in Parksville, BC on December 27, 2003. Predeceased by husband Fred. Sr. in 2001
Irene (Mom/Gram) will be sadly missed by her sister Jean, brothers Lloyd and Robert, son Fred Jr. (Joan), Parksville, BC, daughter Beverly (Colin) Carson, Kemptville, ON, grandchildren Glen (Ramona), Yellowknife, NT, Shari (Christian) Leibbrandt, Amersfoort, Netherlands, Liesa (Trevor) Taphorn, Golden, BC, Dan (Teresa), Calgary, AB and great grand kids Stefanee, Natalie, Sara, Rachel, Aidan and Kayla, as well as many loving family and friends.
Irene had taken loving pride in her flourishing gardens and kitchen. She kept a clean shop with hot coffee and always took time for a conversation. She was very involved in the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and is a life member. During the winter she participated enthusiastically in the curling club and in the summer, when not cracking the whip at OK Tire or working in her garden, you would find her chasing the ball at the Golden Golf Club. Irene loved life and hard work. She will be sadly missed by all.
Memorial service to be held
January 5 at 11:00 am. in Salmon Arm, BC
at Bowers Funeral Home, 440 10 Street SW.
Refreshments will follow.
