The family of Isaac are sad to announce his sudden passing at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on Thursday, February 18, 2010. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce in 1999 and his daughter Donna in 1958. Isaac is survived by sons; Brian (Janice) of Kamloops, BC and Ken (Dallas) of Coombs, BC and grandchildren; Jeffrey (Crystal), Richard and Breanna. Isaac was born on the family farm in Coombs, BC on August 5, 1921. He served as a Firefighter for the Canadian Air Force during WWII. Isaac was a self made man; an entrepreneur involved in logging, trucking, excavating, land development and water utilities. He volunteered for the Coombs Fire Department, the Coombs Fair, Arrowsmith Search & Rescue and served on the board for the Regional District of Nanaimo. Isaac retired in the late 1980’s but still continued to work at home. He enjoyed spending time with his family and doing some travelling. The family would like to thank attending BC Ambulance Paramedics, Coombs/Hilliers Fire Department, Dr. Cooper and the staff at NRGH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 @ 1:00 PM at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Rd Parksville, BC with Reverend Foster Freed officiating. Flowers gratefully declined, but if one wishes, a donation in Isaac’s memory to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A heart of gold stopped beating,

Hardworking hands at rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

The leaves and flowers may wilt,

The golden sun may set,

but the heart that loved so dearly,

Are the ones who won’t forget.
