Isobel Girton
August 8, 1917 – July 8, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, gran, and great gran, Isobel Girton on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Nanaimo Hospital.
She will be greatly missed and was much loved by daughter Sue; son Ron; granddaughters Brenda (Shaughn), Cheryl, and Amanda; step granddaughter Richelle; great-grandsons Jason, Jack, Wyatt, and Lyndon; and sister-in-law Molly. Isobel was pre-deceased by her husband Gordon and son Jimmy.
Mom lived a long, full, and happy life. She loved her volunteer work with Sendial for many years and always enjoyed her bridge.
We would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Desai, Parksville Home Support, and especially the nurses and Hospice volunteers at the Nanaimo Palliative Care Unit.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Isobel’s memory may be made to the Nanaimo Hospice Society.
A tea to remember Isobel will be held at Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville on Monday, July 22nd, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
