McLEOD, J. Lorne
McLeod, James Lorne of Parksville, BC, born September 26, 1908 in Van Anda, Texada Island. He passed away on July 26, 2006 in Nanaimo General Hospital after a brief illness, with his wife Beverley at his side.
Predeceased by his dear wife Phyllis in 1966 and sister Glenn in 1988. He is survived by his beloved wife Beverley; his sons Dave of Tacoma, WA; Gary (Roz) of West Vancouver, BC; daughter Donna (George) Lechner of Gillies Bay, BC; sister Marion Little of Van Anda, BC; Beverley’s sons Don and Dave of Vancouver, BC; Glen of Seal Beach, CA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lorne spent much of his life in the Duncan area where he served as an alderman and was active in the United Church, their choir and AOTS before retiring to Schooner Cove and finally Parksville. He will be deeply missed by all of us who loved him.
A memorial service will be held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 9, 2006, at 2 pm, 921 Wembley Road, Parksville.
