91 yrs. old, born Aug 4, 1921 in Gladstone, MB passed away peacefully on May 22 with his children Grant and Ruth near his side. At the start of WWII Jack enlisted in the Army (RCASC). During his European service, Jack met and married Betty, his loving wife & mother of their two children. Upon returning to Canada, he worked with The Tuckett Tobacco Co as a travelling salesman throughout Manitoba and a short stint in Toronto. After Leaving Tuckett’s Jack and his brother Doug moved their families to Thompson, MB and opened a gift / flower shop and pool hall. This proved an adventure but after a few years they sold and returned to Winnipeg,. Jack started work as the sales manager at an audio and alarm installation company. Later Jack and Betty moved their family to New Westminster, BC. Jack was hired as the Marketing Officer for the New Zealand Trade Commission in Vancouver, Jack enjoyed the work and remained there till retirement. Jack’s passion for gardening, BBQ’s & friends filled his retirement days in Qualicum Beach.

Jack is predeceased by his Wife Betty and sister Velma, (Stuart). Jack is survived by his loving family, daughter Ruth (Samuel, grandchildren Eyob & Hiwot), son Grant (Darlene), his sister Beryl ( Chuck ), and his brother Doug ( Fay ), and his extended family Margaret, David ,Debbie, ( children Cameron & Mitchell ). Jack shared happy times with his many nieces and nephews.

Thank you Doug, Fay and Kathy for the love, support and care of Dad the past two years in Victoria. Special thanks to the staff at George Derby, Royal Jubilee, Victoria and Burnaby General for their wonderful care.

A memorial Service will be held Thursday,

June 14th 1:15 PM at the Christian Fellowship Center, 825 Village Way, Qualicum Beach, BC
