Jack passed away peacefully at Qualicum Beach, B.C. on October 20, 2006; predeceased by his loving wife Barbara in April, 2006. He will be greatly missed by his daughter Barbara ‘Jill’ (Roger), son Brian (Susan), grandchildren Leslie, Christine (Rob), Chris, Jane, Lindsay (Dan), Scott, Kylie (Tim), and great grandchildren Mackenzie, Derek, Hunter, and Cassie. Jack grew up in North Van; began his career with the Royal Bank in 1935, working in several branches in B.C. (Abbotsford, Port Alberni, Wells, and Vancouver) before enlisting in the Army in 1942. He saw service overseas in Australia, arriving back in Vancouver in 1946. Jack was very involved in community service wherever Barb and he lived – YMCA, Boy Scouts, Anglican Church, Handicapped Association, United Way, and Rotary. He lived his life “lending a hand”; his motto was ‘do unto others as you would have them do unto you’. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed.

The family wishes to convey their thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Eagle Park Health Care Facility, and to Dr. McIntyre, for the loving care and compassion Jack received.
