James Christie Sneddon

James Christie Sneddon passed away Saturday, April 30th at Cowichan Lodge, Duncan, BC. Jim was born February 5, 1939 in Victoria to Richard and Mae Sneddon. He was the youngest of three children. Jim went to school there and became a carpenter. He met the love of his life, Sharon, in 1957 and they were married in 1959. They moved to Parksville in 1966 where he started his construction business. Jim loved his family and took them on many camping and fishing trips. He built a cabin at Horne Lake where many friends and family gathered. Shortly after retiring, Jim and Sharon travelled to Alaska, Scotland, England, Ireland, Paris and the east coast of Canada. Jim enjoyed fishing, especially at the Little Qualicum River.

Jim was predeceased by his wife, Sharon. He is survived by his children: Cheryl (Guy), Daryl (Diana), Gary (Jennifer), and Wendy (Ray); grandchildren: Sam, Dean, James, Denise, Wesley and Spencer; brother Ken (Pat) and sister Jean (Dan); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim’s family would like to thank all of his caregivers at the Cowichan Lodge for the excellent care they gave Jim.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Qualicum Legion Hall, Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice. Cremation took place at Sands Funeral Home.
