JAMES I. HENDRY
April 7, 1933 – June 2, 2013
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jim Hendry at the age of 80. Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Kay; three daughters, Janice (Darrell), Laurie (Danny), Beverley (Christopher); four stepchildren Nancy (Clare), Gary (Micaela), Bruce (Robin), Gail (Gary); 20 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Ken (Marj) of Calgary, Alberta and was predeased by his parents James and Elizabeth Hendry, brother Bill, and sister Christine.
Jim was born in Calgary, Alberta. He left Calgary when he was only 16 to move to Nelson, BC where he worked for CPR as a certified machinist. In 1958, Jim left CPR to take a position with Alberta Government Telephones (AGT-now Telus) in High River, Alberta. In 1970, he was transferred to Edmonton to take up a new job. Jim and his lovely wife retired to Vancouver Island in 1990 to pursue his passion of living by the sea and fishing.
