GORMAN, James “Jim” Edward

Born November 16, 1932 in Fredericton, N.B.,

passed away on March 28, 2005 in Parksville, B.C.


He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Dorothy Jean; step-children Barbara (Frank) Csordas, Rick Logan of Victoria; daughter

Cynthia Gorman; granddaughter Melissa Macahonic of Surrey, B.C.; sister Dorothy (Bill) Wright of Fredericton, N.B.; as well as many

nieces, nephews and cousins in both the Maritimes and B.C. Jim served in the RCN for five years on the east coast. He also served on

CCGS Camsell and the Sir James Douglas for twenty-six years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 50 years and also the

P.G.O.S.A. where he enjoyed playing slo-pitch, shinny hockey and curling. After his stroke in 2001 and cancer in 2003 he ended up

watching his sports from his favorite chair.


At Jim’s request he will be cremated.

A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jim’s memory.
