James (Jim) William Hanna
September 22, 1942 – June 26, 2015.
With sadness, Jim’s family announce his passing on Friday, June 26, 2015. He leaves behind his daughter, Karen (Gemma); son, Mark (Leslie); grandchildren, Kennedy and Eve; sister, Evelyn Middlebrook of Timmins, Ontario. Jim was predeceased by his father, Gerald Hanna; mother, Edna (Houzer); sister, Marilyn Helset; & his wife Sheila (Barker).
Born in Welland, Ontario, Jim moved to Elliot Lake and while working construction he co-owned a business with his father called “Hanna Mosaics”. He married the love of his life, Sheila, in January 1969 and moved to Parksville, BC in August 1970 where he continued to develop a successful career in construction.
Jim’s work ethic and quick wit served him well and he will be fondly remembered by his friends and family. Some of Jim’s favorite things were his cabin on Horne Lake, gardening and road trips.
There will be an Open House held in Jim’s
memory from 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at #6 - 447 Pym St in Parksville.
