The loss of Jean leaves a deep sorrow in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gilberte; daughters, Louise (David) Wheater and Andrea (Douglas) George; grandchildren, Kelsey (Brad) Benson, Emily (Nathan) Hollman, Samuel Wheater, Jessica (Tyler) Schofield; Olivia Wheater; and great grandchildren, Owen, Ellison, and Barrett.

Jean, aka"Johnny"to his coworkers, arrived in BC in 1955 to find work in the logging industry. He worked for McMillan Blodel in Haida Guai, Eurocan in Kitimat, and for Whonnock Logging in Chamois Bay on Vancouver Island.

The family would like to express a special thank you to all the staff and volunteers in the Palliative Care Unit at NRGH and the Oceanside Health Centre for taking such good care of Jean in his final days.

A private celebration to honour his life will be held at a later date.
