STRAIN, Jean Winnifred (nee Judiesch)

Passed away on April 11, 2004 at the age of 88.

Jean and Mel moved to Qualicum Beach in 1947. They raised three children there. Jean was a people person and loved to 'go out for coffee'. She was a long standing member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge and still retains her membership to date. Jean was an associate member of Branch 76 Legion. Her many activities included playing the accordion, bingo, pool, darts and floor curling. Jean and Mel enjoyed many wonderful vacations during their retirement years. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Mel and son Tom. She is survived by daughters Lois (Rory) Powell of Port Alberni, Caroline (Bruce) Warn of Qualicum Beach, Daughter-in-law Laila Strain of French Creek, Grandson Ryan (Cory) Powell and great-granddaughters Tiffany and Jessica Powell all of Calgary and Don (Pearl) Judiesch of Kelowna. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service on April 23, 2004, at 2:00 p.m., at the Rotary Club Hall on Beach Rd., Qualicum Beach. In lieu of flowers donations to the Parksville and Qualicum District S.P.C.A. or North Island Wildlife Recovery Association in Errington.
