It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Jeanette. Survived by loving husband Andrew, loving son Elliott 17, loving daughter Annika 12, and loving father Derek Hobson. Jeanette lost her battle against cancer but her illness never beat her wicked sense of humour, her determination to help others or her forever saying “there is always somebody worse off than yourself’. Always smiling and making sure that all those around her were comfortable and happy was her priority. Even in her last weeks she was able to laugh, joke and party with the girls. She came to the island 3 years ago from Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. She wanted to become a citizen as she loved Canada. Jeanette dearly loved her new found circle of friends,
neighbors, the HSBC staff, VIU staff, the moms, teachers and staff from Qualicum Elementary/Middle and dance schools just to name a few. Her friendship/love was unconditional and unlimited. A special lady to all who knew her.
Jeanette’s Celebration of Life will be held at
Yates Funeral Chapel, 1000 Allsbrook Rd, Parksville on Saturday, May 9th at 3:30pm.
