Jo-ann Lynn Milliard

(nee Molyard)

June 20, 1940 – August 12, 2015

Jo passed peacefully with her family by her side after her battle with aggressive cancer. She was pre-deceased by her husband Bill and survived by her children Shelley, Bill, & Dan; grandchild Kory (Alice), great granddaughter Courtney, bro Dennis and good friend Rick.

Jo was born in Vancouver BC where she was raised by her mother Alice. In 1962 this city girl was off to Penticton BC with her country boy Bill to set down roots and raise a family. In 1976, the family moved to Vancouver Island and after a short stint in Campbell River, settled in the Parksville/Qualicum area. Among Jo’s hobbies was bingo, puzzles, knitting, watching the bike races and she was an avid reader. She also enjoyed playing board and card games with family and had a contagious laugh that would leave everyone in tears. In her younger days Jo was known to burn the rubber as a stock car racer and has a few trophies under her belt. Aside to being a fulltime homemaker, over the years Jo worked in a processing plant, as a waitress, food truck driver, and taxi dispatch. She would say that her greatest accomplishments next to her children were the many years of service/charity work she did within the community as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Parksville Lioness Club and The Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Jo will be greatly missed by her family and those that affectionately called her Mum.
