July 17, 1942 - August 22, 2021
Joanne Linda Kathleen Anderson (nee Preston) of Qualicum passed away peacefully at home with family on August 22, 2021 at the age of 79.
She is survived by Mark, her loving husband of 60 years. Lovingly remembered by children Dr. Bob Winning (Cathy) of Michigan, Dan (Debbie) of Victoria and Angela of Aldergrove; grandchildren Cal, Riley, Courtnee and Brock; great-grandson Elliott; brother Tom Preston of Lower Nicola, sister Marilyn Turner (Fred) of Osoyoos, her sister-in-law Willetta Preston of Winnipeg, special cousin Carol Souka (Atkinson) of Victoria along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by parents Earl Preston and Kathleen (Clayton) of Oliver and brother Dr. William Preston of Winnipeg.
Joanne was born in Penticton 17 July 1942 and raised on an apple orchard in Oliver. She was an enthusiastic crafter, knitter, seamstress and quilter, a dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a very proud mother and grandmother.
Kind and well-loved, she will be fondly missed by many. Thanks to Dr. Hunter and Oceanside Home Support staff as well as Dr. Booth and the Home Dialysis staff at NRGH for their kind care. A small family gathering will be held in Osoyoos at a future date.
