Joe Pehowich

Born September 2, 1923 in Mundare Alberta,

passed away Tuesday May 26 2015 at Trillium Lodge in Parksville.

Predeceased by his infant son David, Joe is survived by his wife Helen and his three sons Wayne (Patricia), Dan (Enid) and John (Laverne) and numerous loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Railroading was a large part of Joe’s life. Working for the CNR he began his career working as a telegraph operator on the prairies. After working in Alberta and BC he completed his career as Superintendent of Marine operations for the railway.

Joe was very much a family man. Showing endless love to his wife Helen and raising three sons. He most certainly enjoyed raising a toast at a meal surrounded by his family and friends.

The family is very thankful for the dedication of staff at Trillium Lodge, assisting Joe in his later years and tolerating his repeated requests for a shot of scotch to take with his medication.

A special thanks to Dr. Sulz for his caring manner

and sharing his love of curling with Joe.

A service was held at the Catholic Church of the Ascension on Monday, June 1.
