Born May 3, 1930 in Vankleek Hill, ON – Deceased November 27, 2012
John is predeceased by his only sister Margery McKenzie and survived by wife, Dorothy Rae (Bowell) Gourlay (married 55 years) and three children, Jean Paetkau, Clarke and Peter and 11 grandchildren.
When we think of John the words integrity, dignity and faith come to mind though there was so much more. He was a fine husband, dad, grandad and friend.
John joined the Bank of Montreal in 1947 as a teller. He was transferred throughout Ontario, Montreal and moved to BC in 1975. He retired as District Manager, Kootenays, in 1988 and moved to Parksville in 1989. Throughout his life he was active in community service groups and churches in every community in which he resided.
A memorial service will be held at
Parksville Baptist Church,
Sunday, December 9th at 2:00pm.
