John Fritz Boss passed away peacefully on 01 April 2012 at his home with his sons Colin, Stan and Jim at his side.
John was born 18th of September 1932 in Langnau I/M Switzerland. He immigrated to Canada in 1954. John was predeceased by his son “Earl” Boss, brother Werner Boss, Basel Switzerland. John will be greatly missed by sister Rosmarie RufiBach Boss of Guttannen Switzerland; son’s Colin (Dorothy); Stan and Jim; grandchildren Kyle, Nicole, Shawn and Amanda.
John worked 30 years at S. Madill Logging Equipment in Nanaimo as a welder and retired in 1995. His hobby was growing grapes and making wicked red wine. He loved spending time with his family and riding around on his little red tractor while tending to his vineyard. John was quite the character. He could always be found sporting his trademark attire of wool pants and orange madill suspenders, even in the heat of summer. He raised four boys and his door was always open. He loved to bend your ear while sharing a glass or two of his vintage.
