April 13, 1923 - July 12, 2009

We are saddened to announce the loss of our father, Jack, who passed away peacefully at Eagle Park Health Care Facility.

Jack was predeceased by wife Mary, brother Herb, and sister Edith. He is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Rick) Watson, Joan (Brian) Harvey; and two sons, Leslie (Debby), Dennis (Bev). Jack will also be missed by his nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Jack was born in Victoria, BC where his career as an electrician began. After completing his apprenticeship as one of the first 600 certified electricians in BC at the Victoria Machine Depot and a term in the Canadian Navy, he moved with Mary to Qualicum Beach in 1947.

He started Qualicum Electric, working to install some of the earliest wiring installations in the area. He moved back to Victoria to raise his family in 1951, returning with Mary to Qualicum Beach in 1969.

With family, Jack started Hodgson Electric, where he successfully completed a much respected life in the construction industry. He finally retired full time in 1988 and enjoyed many hours tending his extensive vegetable garden.

Jack was active with the Qualicum Rotary, Advisory Planning Commission and the Electrical Contractors Association.

We would like to thank the Eagle Park Staff for their care and compassion.

There will be a private family service only.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice on Jack’s behalf.
