JOHN JAMES BUNTING

December 3, 2012

With great sadness we announce the death of John (“Jack”) Bunting, 93, at Qualicum Manor in Qualicum Beach on Monday, December 3, 2012. Jack was born June 5, 1919 in Regina, Saskatchewan, and grew up in Alberta and BC. He was predeceased by his wife Vera in 1990, and is survived by his daughter Barb of Qualicum Beach and son Bob (Cathy Lewis) of North Vancouver.

Jack loved the outdoors and derived pleasure from many sports including SCUBA diving and skiing. After a career in the Air Force, Jack moved his family to North Vancouver where he was actively involved in lawn bowling and curling. Jack moved to Qualicum Beach in 2009 where, although forced to slow down, he continued to enjoy regular outings around town in search of the perfect cup of chai. He also loved music. Jack had a great sense of humour and was witty to the end.

His family is deeply grateful to the staff at Qualicum Manor for their kindness and care. And to good friends for their support during his final days.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
