November 19, 1929 - April 9, 2019
We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Oscar Boivin. Oscar passed quietly in his sleep on April 9, 2019 and the family takes comfort in this peaceful departure knowing that he did not suffer.

Oscar is one of ten children born to Joseph & Henriette (nee Carriere) Boivin in Lakeland, Manitoba. He spent his early years in Manitoba and N.W. Ontario learning his trades of auto & later marine mechanics. Back in those days, in his spare time he also picked up his pilot's license and proceeded to own a few of his own aircraft. The early 80's brought Oscar out to BC where he eventually landed in Qualicum Beach around 1988. Oscar lived his remaining years in the Parksville/ Qualicum area.

Oscar will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle & friend. He is survived by his wife Doris, sisters Millie & Jeanette, brother Leo (Judy), son Alan (Carol), step-son Rick (Melanie), step-daughter Linda (Richard), numerous nieces and nephews, grandkids & great grandkids.

If something was broken Oscar could fix it. Many of the friends he acquired along the way were as a result of him helping them out with a repair of a boat, car, lawnmower, appliance, furnace.....you name it, he could fix it, he was amazing!

Oscar had an honest & kind soul and will be missed by all that had the opportunity to know him.

The family is currently planning a celebration of life to be held in early summer of 2019. Please contact vidaloca@shaw.ca if you would like to attend. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to: The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.ca).
