STRANG, Josy Reine
of Parksville, BC, passed away peacefully at home April 13, 2006 at the age of 82 years.
Josy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years Arthur and her daughter Sheree, sister Odette (Bill), brother Max, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister Jackie and her son Bruce.
Josy spent her younger years growing up in Vancouver. She was working for Canadian Pacific Ferry where she met her future husband Arthur. After they were married, Arthur served overseas as it was war time. A few years after the war, Josy went commercial fishing with Arthur. They spent many years traveling up and down the West Coast searching for the elusive salmon. Once they decided to have children, they decided she would stay at home caring for her family with love. They lived in Victoria, and once their children were finished school, they moved to Vancouver where Arthur had his fish brokerage business. They retired in 1988 and moved to Qualicum Beach.
Josy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, legion branch #76 in Qualicum Beach. She really enjoyed supporting the legion as she was a regular at the Saturday afternoon meat draws where she also loved to play Keno.
A celebration of Josy’s life will be held Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Qualicum Beach Legion.
Cremation arrangements entrusted to First Memorial.
