Joy Anne Clement

Passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital November 7th, 2015.

Joy was born on August 14th 1944 to Jim and Joyce Stewardson. She grew up in Victoria with her brother Todd and sister Shannon. She enjoyed many hobbies as a young girl but her favourite was playing in the Thunderbird Drum Corp where she had the opportunity to travel on both sides of the border.

The first part of her 20s took her to Germany where she had two beautiful daughters. Joy moved back to the island where she had another daughter and a son, and 2 stepson’s who she lovingly raised as her own. She spent many years living in Alberta raising her family but Vancouver Island  always felt like home to her. Whenever she boarded the ferry she would always say now she was “home” the island was where her heart was.

Joy resided in Parksville for the past 20 years and was very proud to become a local business owner when in her 50’s she purchased the French Creek Farm Market. It was well know that the Market had the best homemade soup for miles around and

always 33 cent bananas! She enjoyed cooking & entertaining friends & family, playing bingo, and volunteering at the Parksville Legion.

Joy requested that no funeral service be held, but a private family celebration of her life

will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
