Joy passed away peacefully and comfortably on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in her daughter Trisha’s home in Port Alberni while waiting to get in to Ty Watson House.
Joy was born in Trail, BC and grew up in Burnaby. After marrying Vern Beaumont they moved to Deep Cove, North Vancouver and raised their four girls. After retiring to Saturna Island they moved to Qualicum Beach in 1992 to Chartwell where they made lots of friends and Joy joined many bridge groups. She was a fun, kind, caring person who would help anyone who needed her. Joy loved to be surrounded by her family.
Joy was predeceased by her husband Vern in 2007 and is survived by her loving daughters Trish (George) Koning of Port Alberni, Holly Beaumont of Victoria, Leslie (John) Emerson of North Vancouver and Cindy (Hank) Van Vliet of Qualicum Beach. She is further survived by her eight grand children whom she adored Luke, Heather Ben, Jon, James, Joy, Rory and Heidi. All her family and friends will greatly miss her.
A celebration tea will be held at Hawthorne Place, 750 Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach on Saturday, January 11, 2013 from 12 noon to 2:00 pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
