Judie El-Khalafawi, a beloved wife, mother, and friend passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on June 14, 1949, in North Carolina, Judie's life was a testament to kindness, warmth, and dedication to others.
She is predeceased by her father Coy Kiser, mother, Sarah Kiser, and her sister Mary Williams.
Mourning her passing are her loving husband of 53 years, Bashir, her daughter, Nadima (Vilem Musil), son Ali, grandson, Dominic Musil, and her beloved niece, Lisa Black. Judie has many other family and friends in Canada, US, Europe and the Middle East.
In her early years, Judie met the love of her life Bashir, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Together they moved to Tampa, Florida and built a beautiful life and were blessed with their first child Nadima. Their journey took them to North Vancouver, Canada, where they welcomed their second child Ali, into their family.
In 1980, the El-Khalafawi's moved to Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, where Judie dedicated much of her time to volunteering with the hospital auxiliary, touching many lives wither selfless service. By 1989, they settled in Parksville, where Judie's compassionate nature shone brightly at the Eagle Park Care Facility. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor brought comfort to many.
Judie's support extended to her husband's business ventures, and she took great joy in attending Rotary and other community functions, where her presence was always a highlight. Known for her elegance, Judie enjoyed dressing up for events and was a gracious host, her beautiful southern drawl adding a touch of charm to every gathering.
Her faith in God and Jesus was unwavering, and she lived her life with kindness, patience, and care for everyone she met. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Judie found joy in painting, gardening, and bird watching, hobbies that reflected her appreciation for beauty and nature.
Judie El-Khalafawi's legacy is one of love, service, and grace. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege, of knowing her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and warmth.
