Julia Evelyn Trueman (Julie)

March 30, 1943 – January 15, 2017

It is with great sorrow that the family of Julie Trueman announces her death at home in Qualicum Beach, following a lengthy illness.

Julie was a long time resident of Qualicum Beach having taught school on the island for over 30 years. Her teaching career began in Victoria and took her to Australia and New Zealand. She returned to Qualicum Beach where she taught until her retirement.

In Australia, her love of the then, recently discovered, Aboriginal Tribes close to Alice Springs stayed strong. Upon her retirement she returned to Australia for a several months and renewed ties with some of her students and their descendants. Over the years she will be remembered by fellow teachers, students, neighbours and her many friends.

Julie was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Rhoda Trueman.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Elizabeth, Jesse and Susan; her brother-in-law Eric; nieces and nephews Leslie, Jason, Darcy, Derek, Meghan and David. She is also survived by her nine great nieces and nephews plus her extended family Ben, Jan, Lexi and Will.

As Julie requested, there will

be a private family funeral.

Because springtime was her

favourite season we will announce

and hold a Celebration of Life

for Julie then.
