1934 to 2004 The family of June Rice Morgan regret to announce her passing in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital on Saturday, February 14, 2004. She is survived by her loving friend and husband, John; daughter Melanie Piper and son Simon Rice. She will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren Athena and Owen Piper, who gave her some of the greatest joys of her life. June is also survived by many life long and new friends in England and B.C., as well as sisters Dulcie (UK) and Rosalie (B.C.) and brother Douglas Hosking in Nova Scotia. There are many nephews and nieces in UK and Canada who remember her with deep affection. Born in Cornwall, England in June 1934, she moved to Kamloops in 1977 where she operated her own hair salons and started her hobby of pottery. She was well known in both these fields. June and John moved to Parksville in 2001 where they have enjoyed golf, their passion for gardening and June's progress in her pottery projects. June's joie de vivre, which drew people to her wherever she went, will be her enduring legacy. A celebration of June's life will be held at The Church, Heritage Park, 1245 E. Island Highway, Parksville on Monday, February 23, 2004 at 11:00 am followed by a reception at June and John's home at 16 Farrell Drive, Parksville. In lieu of flowers friends may send donations to the I.C.U. Ward at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Nanaimo, B.C.
