JUSTUS SYLVESTER HOLMAN
April 13, 1926 – August 19, 2015
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Justus on August 19, 2015, at The Qualicum Manor, Qualicum Beach, BC. He was born on April 13, 1926, and was the second youngest of eight children. Justus was predeceased by his wife, Roberta, on July 11, 2010. He is survived by his son, Wayne (Elyse) and his daughter, Kathleen, as well as seven grandchildren: Darren, Jason, Daniel, Adam, Michael, Rachel, and Taylor, and five great-grandchildren: Carl, Julia, Jax, Damien and Kori. Justus is also survived by his sister, Stella, and his sister-in-law, Marcia.
Justus’ career as a truck driver spanned many decades, but he most fondly liked to tell his story of trucking a very large piece of equipment over the Lions Gate bridge while bystanders watched the bridge as it seemed to flinch under the weight. Justus and Roberta also started up a towing company called Alert Auto Towing, running the business from their home in Kitsilano, and Justus is remembered throughout these years, especially in winter, crossing his fingers for snow! Even after retiring to Qualicum Beach, he couldn’t get the driving bug out of his system so he became a school bus driver. Justus was an avid square dancer and RVer which he greatly enjoyed with Roberta, especially on their numerous trips to Arizona and Alaska.
Jess enjoyed the camaraderie of his fellow Veterans at the legion and was always ready with a story or two to share. He was also a great supporter of St. Stephens Church and really enjoyed the Thursday luncheons.

Qualicum Beach, BC. A reception in the church hall will follow the memorial.
