January 1, 2008

DUNCAN, Kathleen Kay?nee O’Connor

Born April 15th, 1939 Kenosha, Wisconsin joined God in his kingdom on Tuesday, December 18th, 2007.

The Duncan Family wishes to thank the many friends and colleagues who have provided unceasing support, prayers and comfort to their family and their courageous matriarch, Kathleen O’Connor Duncan.  Yesterday, with her family by her side, Kathi peacefully ended her inspiring battle.

Kathi leaves behind her loving husband and best friend of 43 years Bill, daughter’s Colleen & Suzanne, Granddaughter Madelene, Step children, Ifoma, Rachel (Greg) Brooks, Deborah and William Jr. Margaret (Newell) O’Connor, brothers Charles (Judy) O’Connor, James (Joan) O’connor and Sister Eileen O’Connor.  Kathi loves the holidays, but her favourite time of the year is Christmas – a time of spiritual birth, a celebration of family, a time when one of her greatest gifts, that of her selfless giving, is shared and seen in so many.

Her family knows that Kathi’s wish would be that her life and legacy are celebrated at this time.  That tears shed would be shed in celebration of a woman who lived as a soldier for so many.  Kathi’s family, husband William, daughters Colleen and Suzanne and granddaughter Madelène, would like you to know that your support these past many weeks has made a tremendous difference and are coveted even more now.

Services will be held at Catholic Church of the Ascension at 11am, Friday, Dec. 28, 887 Wembley Road, Parksville, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dr. Paul Klimo’s Chemo Clinic at Lion’s Gate Hospital and the Oceanside Hospice Society.
