KENNETH ERNEST TCHIR

With a profound sense of sadness the family of Ken Tchir announces his sudden and unexpected passing at his home on January 23, 2010 --- taken too soon.

Left to mourn is his loving and heartbroken wife Kitty, his daughter Nicole Tchir of Chilliwack, BC; stepdaughter Lenka Stolar of Victoria, BC; stepson Hayes (Krista) Stolar of Kamloops, BC, and grandchildren Michaila, Haylen, Reece, Casimir and Hayes. He is also survived by his mother, Anne Tchir of Edmonton, AB, sister Grace (Ted) Telicki of Sherwood Park, AB, and brother Conrad (Rosemarie) Tchir of Edmonton, AB, as well as aunts, uncles and nephews Craig (Molly) Plitt and Cordell Plitt. He was predeceased by his son Jason and his father Constantine Tchir.

Ken was born and raised in Alberta, attended NAIT where he earned his Journeyman Electrician ticket, and diligently worked his trade in Alberta and BC. He was a 30-year member of IBEW, and a staunch and long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49.

Ken was a devoted husband and father and a doting grandpa, loyal to his family and his legion of friends, and was always willing to lend a hand. He was a very hard-working man, always had a project on the go, and enjoyed working on his property and ending the day with “a cool one.” His strength and quirky sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at the family home at a later date.
