It is with sadness that we announce Lance's death on February 5.
He is survived by his brothers Maurice and Gordon, by his three children Dennis Kemp, Lareina Bjornsen, and Michael Kemp and by his grandchildren.
Lance was predeceased by his mother Myrtle Mooney. Lance was born in Mission BC, but grew up in Port Alberni. He retired from a position at UBC's Chemistry Department as a warehouse manager.
For a time, Lance worked as a musician and, until his illness, played in several community bands on Vancouver Island. He was passionate about tracing his family's lineage. He loved to walk around Lanceville, always accompanied by his dog Casey.
A gathering of friends and family in honour of Lance will be held on March 31, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the McKnight residence, 813 Memorial Drive, Qualicum, BC.
