LAURA MARY MUTTER

November 13, 1932 – May 19, 2013

Passed away peacefully in her 81st year after a short courageous battle with cancer.

Survived by her husband Tom of 60 years, son John (Corrie), grandchildren Kalan (Australia) and Emily (Parksville), and many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and friends in England and Canada.

Laura was born in the County of Devon, second child of the late Edith and Bill Luscombe and was one of 15 children. She had a very busy life helping to raise her siblings and always worked hard. She met and married Tom and had a son John before emigrating to Canada in 1974.

Laura worked at the Island Hall Hotel for 12 years before retiring to become part of the raising of her two beloved grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling back and forth to England to visit relatives and friends, gardening, knitting and crosswords. She also spent 25 years volunteering at Trillium Lodge and became group grandma to her grandchildrens friends and families.

The family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Park for their love and care they gave Laura during her short stay, and also Rev. Andrew Twiddy for his time and caring.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Service will be held at St. Edmunds Anglican Church, on Wembley Road, Parksville on

Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 1:30pm.
