Laurence Jacques born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 29th, 1919 died in Nanaimo Hospital May 28,2010. Predeceased by his sister Florence Patterson. He will be sorely missed by his wife Edie Jacques of Qualicum Beach, daughters Margaret Cromack of Edmonton and Janice Jacques of Kelowna.9 grandchildren, Laryssa and Doug Jacques of Penticton, Andrea Paget of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Guy Jacques and Tammy Cunningham of Kelowna and Jarett Lloyd, Martin Cromack, Michael Cromack and April Cromack of Edmonton, Seven grandchildren.

Larry served with the 38th light Anti Aircraft from 1940 until September 1945. He went overseas in February 1941 and served in England , France and Belgium. After the war he worked at National Cartage and the City of Winnipeg. He retired in 1979 and took up cross country skiing, mountain climbing and camping. He loved his golf and lawn bowling.

A memorial service reception was held on Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010 at 2 pm, at Yates Funeral Home. No flowers by request, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
