SMITH, Lavern Louie
born August 11, 1930, Lavern passed away suddenly on November 14, 2003 while snorkeling in Mexico.
He is predeceased by his parents and sister. Lavern is survived by Lois, his loving wife of 49 years; his three children Barbara, Dean, and Keith; two grandchildren Brian and Kevin, and great-grandson Scott. After many years with CP Rail, Lavern was living an active retirement, traveling with his beloved Lois. Throughout his life, Lavern valued his close association with the United Church. Lavern’s passions included golfing, skiing, snorkeling, and especially, traveling to exotic destinations to do all those things.
A celebration of Lavern’s life will be held at
St. Steven’s United Church,
November 26, 2003 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
