Leo passed away at the Arborg Personal Care Home on January 1st, 2011. Leo was predeceased by his wife Keitha in 2002; brothers, Sigurjon and Mindy, and brothers-in-law, Kris Eiriksson and Ole Hagen.
Leo was born in Winnipegosis, MB. At an early age he moved to Flin Flon where he worked with relatives in the fishing industry. He also worked in the United States and Alberta, ending his working career in Parksville, BC in the employ of BC Highways. Following the death of Keitha in 2002 Leo moved to Gimli, MB.
Leo is survived by step-children, Muriel Goodmanson, Winnipeg; Dorothy Hogan Fox (Jim), Greenfield, Missouri and Jean Quaschik (Phillip), Rochester , Washington; sisters, Helen Eiriksson, Brandon, MB and Connie Hagen, Red Deer, AB; brother, Victor Einarson (Loretta), Richmond, BC and sister-in-law, Borga Einarson, Creighton, Sask. Leo is also survived by many Grand and Great-Grand children, nieces and nephews, as well as his Aunt Edna Einarson of Winnipeg who was like a second Mother to him.
Family wish to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Arborg Personal Care Home for the kindness and care they gave Leo during the past six months and to convey special thanks to cousins Sylvia and Thor Sigurdson of Winnipeg, MB who visited Leo often and kept the Family apprised of his condition, and to great grand-daughter Jasmine who he loved to spend time with.
