September 1, 1930 – August 29, 2012
Lillian Reiter’s loving and caring nature touched many lives during her almost 82 years of life. She overcame all obstacles with courage and a smile, a smile which lives on in the hearts of everyone she met. After witnessing the marriage of her beloved granddaughter Jordan, she passed away peacefully four months later surrounded by her family.
Lil was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Frieda (nee Laible) and August Balzer. Lil married Ernest Reiter, and lived and raised a family first in Vancouver and then in Surrey and Langley. Lil and Ernie then retired at Qualicum Beach where she enjoyed gardening, golfing and spending time with her family and friends.
Lil was first and foremost a people person, a loving wife, parent, sister, and grandmother. She is survived by her sister Lee Hauser (nee Balzer) (Jack deceased), brother Irvin (Betty), son Barry (Susie), daughter Renae (Jerry), and adoring grandchildren Tamara, Jordan (Shane), Lara, Courtney, and Samantha. Lil is pre-deceased by her brothers Billy and Arthur (Janet deceased) and sisters Hilda Lanham (nee Balzer) and Elsie Dean (nee Balzer) (Harry).
She will be greatly missed —
and her memory greatly valued — by all.
A celebration of life will be held on September 15
at 11:00 am at the Eaglecrest Golf Course
Clubhouse in Qualicum Beach BC.
