1946-2021 ~ It is with heartfelt tears that we announce the passing of Linda Ford, nee Pettersson, nee Harrington on May 31, 2021, from Esophageal Cancer.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Carol Harrington, brother Dave Harrington and her second husband Daniel Ford.
Linda is survived by her children: Tracy (Chuck) Landa, Shelley (Al) Cameron and Kevin Pettersson, her grandchildren: Chuck Jr. (Kirsten) Landa, Natasha (Gordon) Purpur and Ty (Chantelle) Cameron and Great grandson Waylon Cameron.
Linda was born in Grande Prairie Alberta and raised in Sturgeon Heights where she completed high school. After marrying her first husband Carl in 1964, they purchased a farm in Valleyview where they raised their 3 children. As well as working on their farm, she was a full-time front desk clerk and part time seamstress and bookkeeper.
In 1980 the family moved to Campbell River where she worked again as a front desk clerk. Her final job was with the City of Campbell River until her retirement in 2004.
While living in Campbell River, she met and married her second husband Dan in 1995. With this marriage she gained a stepdaughter Tabatha, a grandson Adam born in 1995 and a great grandson Carter born in 2017. Unfortunately, Daniel her best friend, fishing buddy and camping companion passed away in August of 1995.
After her retirement, she relocated to Parksville where she kept herself busy working on our family genealogy, gardening and baking. Every year she would say "I am not buying any more plants!!" but she would always end up buying something.
Her baking of cakes, cookies, muffins and tarts where always in high demand. She also had requests for her Homemade Pickled Beets, Strawberry jam, 7-layer dip, Macaroni Salad and best yet, her Homemade Lemonade!!
Linda was known as an incredibly sweet, kind, beautiful, great and lovely lady with quiet strength, a beautiful smile and soft voice. She was the best mom and an incredible grandmother.
Her heavenly family has taken their angel home where there is no more pain and suffering. She is on a new journey spreading her unconditional love and kindness.
She told us that after she passed, if we saw a double rainbow, it would mean that she and her beloved pet Lily were together again and that they were happy. After seeing several, we do know that they are happily together again, and that Dan was patiently waiting for his dancing partner. In conclusion, we will not say goodbye but until we meet again. God Bless!!!!
A service will be hosted October 21 at 1 pm at Yates Memorial in Parksville.
