Passed away suddenly April 20, 2004 at age 73.

Lorne will be lovingly missed by his wife Judy, and the following family from Edmonton - son Greg Wood, daughter Tracy (Brad) Carson, grandson Sean Carson, brother-in-law Frank (Leanne) Walls, sister-in-law Linda (Ed) Harrison, nephew Stephen Harrison, nephew Lowell Walls, niece Carley Walls, sister-in-law Winnifred Wood of Sequim, WA, niece Leigh (Curt) Ingram of California, nephew David (Judy) Wood of California, and nephew Rick (Lore) Luhrs of Maryland. Lorne was predeceased by his brother Tom Wood and sister Vivian Luhrs. Lorne was raised in rural Saskatchewan, taught in the Edmonton area for several years and was a sports administrator before he and Judy retired to Qualicum Beach in 1990. Lorne had always been interested in sports - playing tennis, badminton, hockey on the University team, curling as a school boy champ, and more recently had greatly enjoyed golf. He was a volunteer driver for SOS, chair of the QB Recreation Board, on the Eaglecrest Residents' Association executive and enjoyed workouts at the fitness centre and riding his bike. He and Judy enjoyed many world travels during the past 10 years.

A celebration of Lorne's life was held at the Eaglecrest golf club house on Saturday, April 24. Those wishing to make donations in Lorne's name may give to the S.O.S.
