Joanne passed away peacefully at home on February 10, 2012 in her 60 year. Beloved wife of Major Rolf Guenther, Salvation Army. Loving mother of daughters, Rachael Olsen (Eric) of Germany and Lydia Guenther of Nanaimo, and son Daniel Guenther of Nanaimo. Dear grandmother of Abbi and Maraike. Survived by her sister, Grace and brothers, Douglas (Shirley) and Ross (Helena) all of Ontario. Joanne’s life was about helping people. Joanne enjoyed her family and friends and her garden. She was truly a dedicated woman of God. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
The card Joanne carried with her read; Always keep this with you, and when you’re feeling blue, pull it out and look at it, and know what others see in you…. Joanne: humorous, positive, story-teller, easy going, cheerful, friendly, loving.
Visitation will be at the Salvation Army Church, 4841 Redford St., Port Alberni on Wed., February 15, 2012 from 1:00 –2:00 pm with Funeral Services following at 2:00 pm. Cremation to follow.
