BERRY, Margaret E.
October 23, 1917 - May 20, 2003
Passed away peacefully, her loving husband Leonard by her side.
Margaret is predeceased by brother Brock Leask and daughter Lynda; Margaret will be missed by sister Barbara Leask, son Brock (Shari) and son Blair (Kelly), grandson Chris (Sarah), great grandson Dexter and granddaughter Chelsea.
Margaret was born in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, then moved to Vancouver. Margaret was a grand-niece of Lachlin Hamilton, the first Town Surveyor of Vancouver. While working together at Boeing during WWII, Marg and Len met and were married in September 1942. During their marriage of 61 years, they raised their family in Deep Cove and North Vancouver, before retiring to Qualicum Beach.
Marg was long associated with and valued leader in the Girl Guides of Canada. Marg, a devoted mother and grandmother, and Len, created a loving home, where family and friends were always welcomed.
Marg’s family would like to thank the staff at Lakeside Gardens for their thoughtfulness and our special appreciation to Dr. Hugh Fletcher, Dr. George Sheppard, the Nanaimo Regional Hospital staff and volunteers for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marg’s memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
