Margaret Jean (nee Baker) Drinkwater
May 5, 1921 - September 15, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Mother, Jean, who slipped away during the night at New Horizons Care Centre in Campbell River where she had lived happily since April 2011.
She was born in England and married a Canadian Soldier, Jim, on September 16, 1945 in East Grinstead, Sussex, and in March 1946 came to Canada on the Mauretania as a War Bride settling first in Winnipeg and in 1950 moving to Victoria where she and her husband raised their family of 3 sons.
She was predeceased by her loving husband in August 1998.
Mom will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her children James (Wendy), Bob (Kathleen) and Derek (Liz), 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
There will be a small gathering to celebrate her life at 2:00 PM on Sept 28, 2017 at New Horizons Care Centre, 850-14th Ave, Campbell River.
