Marg passed away at Trillium Lodge in Parksville
Monday, October 27, 2008
She was born in Summerside, PEI on February 20, 1919 and came to the West Coast in the 1940’s, living in Deep Bay, Comox and Bowser.
For a time Marg operated her own fishing boat and later worked as a fish buyer for NORPAC. Always active in her community, Marg was a long-time member of the local Legion and Lions Club. Marg was a little woman with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Her door was always open for chat, a cup of coffee and a good crib game. And if you pleaded that you did not know how to play crib, she would teach you how to play. Marg made a family of her many friends. She will be sadly missed by her husband Roy (Rusty) McNeil, stepdaughters Carole Morris and Diane Copley, favourite niece Jackie Phillips, “adopted daughter” Rina Knoessen and her daughters, dear friends Christo and Susan Kuun and all their families. Thanks to Dr. Wagenaar and the staff at Trillium Lodge for all the care she received.
A Celebration of Marg’s life will be held at the Bowser Legion (Branch 211-7035 W. Island Highway)
Sunday, November 23, from 12:30 PM until 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Marg’s favourite charities (SPCA, Lions Club, Canadian Legion) would be welcomed.
