Rudd, Marguerite “Aileen”

March 30, 1929 – January 6, 2017

On January 6th Aileen went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. What a joyous reunion to join her husband Glenn and son Randy.

Born in Emo, Rainy River District in 1929 to George and Claire Corrigan. She enjoyed the farm life with the workhorses and livestock. Predeceased by brothers Gilbert Corrigan and Ken Corrigan and survived by her brother Ted Corrigan.

In 1954 she married the love of her life Glenn in Emo, Ontario. They lived in Thunder Bay Ontario and moved their family out west to Nanaimo, BC in 1965. They spent 25 wonderful years in Nanaimo where they raised three boys Randy Rudd (1956-1976), Karl (Joy) Rudd, Tim (Rachael) Rudd, Grandson Matthew Rudd and Granddaughter Bayley (Cory) Russell.

In preparation for their retirement years they moved to Coombs in 1990. She and Glenn loved their property and spent many years planting trees, flowers and a huge garden. She fed us, and all the neighbours with her beautiful garden. She was a devoted homemaker famous for her homemade bread and baking. She loved to sew, knit and crochet. In her mid 40’s she learned to downhill ski. Many days were spent on Mount Washington with Glenn and their many friends and family.

She was devoted to serving her Lord and Saviour and was always actively involved in her church. She spent many years involved with womens ministries and was a prayer warrior.

In 2012 after Glenn’s passing she moved to Hawthorne Place in Qualicum Beach, BC where she met many friends. We would like to thank all the wonderful, caring staff and residents of Hawthorne Place who made it a great home for Aileen.

A memorial service to celebrate

Aileen’s life will be held at Parksville Baptist Church,

550 Pym Street, January 28th, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
