After 97 wonderful years of living, Peggy left us on September 21, 2016. We are all very much saddened and enriched by knowing her. Peggy was born on November 25, 1918, in Dublin, Ireland and grew up to become a very gracious and charming lady who was beloved by all. She treated everyone with kindness and consideration and had time for all. Her natural Irish wit and love of life remained with her until the end. During WWII, Peggy and her mother moved to Belfast where Peggy met and married Mac, newly returned from war service overseas. They moved to Dublin where Sylvia was born and in 1949 emigrated to Canada. Settling in Victoria, Peggy held various secretarial jobs, volunteered for worthy organizations such as the Girl Guides, and made many lasting friends. Some years after Peggy was widowed she moved to Parksville to be with her mid-island family. Predeceased by her husband Mac and brother Kebble, she has left to mourn and rejoice in her life Sylvia (Doug), Kebble (Jen), Rose (Frank), great-grandchildren Nika, Marlow, Adrian and Isabella. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 2 at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 1379 Esquimalt Road, Victoria. In lieu of flowers, Peggy has requested donations to Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health in Victoria. The family would like to thank Dr. Linda Reid in Victoria and Dr. Bradley Bell in Parksville for their excellent care and also the kind and compassionate staff at Stanford Place in Parksville.
