Marguerite SPARKES

January 8, 1921 – April 13, 2016

Marguerite passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016, with her family at her side.  Predeceased by her husband George, second husband Gordon, grandson Nicholas and her sister Joan.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters Lynda Fanzone and Kim Goodman, grandchildren Marco (Tina), Paul (Maureen), Vanessa (Warren), and great-grandchildren Paige, Jordan, Bailey and Emma.

Marguerite was born and raised in London, England, second daughter to Ellen and Herbert Hopkins.  During WWII, she served with the ATS as a radar operator on a Royal Artillery Gun Site in England.

Marguerite moved to Canada in 1974, a country she grew to love, to be with her family.  Until her retirement she worked for BC Tel (Telus).  She loved travel, crossword puzzles, knitting, classical music and animals, especially her cat Daisy; she was also an avid reader.

Mum was a true lady, with a quiet spirit, grace and dignity.  She will be greatly missed.
