Marion CAMERON

June 30, 2015

Marion Cameron

With great sadness we announce the passing of Marion Cameron, resident of Parksville, B.C. Marion slipped away peacefully on June 30, 2015, at the age of 68. She will be remembered by her loving husband, Vincent Cameron, her devoted brothers in England - John and Keith - as well as numerous close friends and relations around the world. Marion was born and raised in London, England.

She enjoyed a stellar career as a jewellery designer at Aspreys, creating pieces for celebrities like Ringo Starr and Elton John. She also designed jewellery for English, European and middle-eastern royalty. After emigrating to Canada in 1980, Marion worked for many years as a leading Designer for Birks Jewellers. Besides being an artist, Marion was a talented teacher of the craft, instructing diploma students, vocational students, day-release apprentices and, later, training a number of emerging designers in the Birks Design Studio.

Two years ago, she and Vincent were able to realize their dream of retiring to Vancouver Island. They loved the mild winters and welcomed the simple lifestyle and natural beauty of the island.

A Celebration of Life will be on

Saturday, August 8, from 1 - 3 pm

at Vin and Marion’s home in Parksville.
