Marvin Victor SJOGREN

December 1, 2008

Marvin unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 1, 2008 at Arrowsmith Lodge, Parksville, BC.

He was 86.

He will be lovingly remembered by his three children Bunny (Jane), David (Petra), and Meg (Dan) and 7 grandchildren Dean, Erik, Todd, Brian, Tyler, Andrew, Beverley, and 3 great grandchildren Dylan, McGuire and Haydan

Marvin was born in Parkside, SK on August 29 to Lena and Axel Sjogren. He married Kay December 9, 1944. They lived in Alert Bay for 9 years and Nanaimo from 1956 to 2004

Marvin was known for his “Marvinizing” our nickname, for his ability to repair, jerry rig, or in some fashion make anything work. He was talented as a welder, boat builder and heavy duty mechanic. He was generous with his skills, freely giving his time and efforts equally to friend, family or acquaintance - to be a helping hand. We treasured and were proud of his Marvinizing. He was a real sweetie with a “sugar grin”, extra large helping hands, and a love for music and dancing.

The family is incredibly grateful for the loving care from Arrowsmith Lodge staff and Dr Bell.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 9, 2009 at 1pm at St. Phillips by the Sea Anglican Church at 7113 Lantzville Rd in Lantzville. Reception is to follow.

In lieu of flowers please bring poems, prayers or pictures for the family. If you are not able to come and would like to send writing or a picture please mail to the family C/O Meg Conarroe, PO Box #273, Nanoose Bay, BC V9P 9J9.
